Who can take part
- You are a woman age 18 or older.
- Your breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) or is locally advanced and has gotten worse after at least one chemotherapy, or came back within 6 months of finishing chemotherapy.
- You have at least one tumor that can be biopsied (or a recent biopsy less than 12 months old with no HER2 therapy or radiation to that spot) and another tumor that can be measured for treatment response.
- You are generally well enough to carry out daily activities (WHO performance score 0-2) and expected to live longer than 12 weeks.
- You do not have a previous biopsy showing your cancer is HER2-positive (IHC 3+ or gene amplification) and you are able to safely undergo trastuzumab deruxtecan treatment (no heart, kidney, liver, or bleeding problems).
