Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are pregnant with one baby (not twins or more).
  • You are in labor and your cervix has opened at least 3 centimeters.
  • You have asked for an epidural and your doctor says it's safe for you.
  • Your baby’s heartbeat has been normal for at least 30 minutes before you get the epidural.
