This trial is testing whether giving the R21 malaria vaccine to infants at different ages (starting at 2 months or 3 months) works as well as starting at 6 weeks. It will help find the best schedule to protect babies against malaria.

Who can take part

  • Your baby is full-term (born at 37 weeks or later) and weighed more than 5.5 pounds at birth.
  • Your baby is between 42 and 49 days old at enrollment.
  • You are willing to bring your baby to all study visits and not travel for 28 days after each vaccination.
  • Your baby does not have a serious health condition, such as a heart, lung, or kidney problem, or a weak immune system.
  • Your baby has not already received certain other vaccines or a malaria vaccine.
