Who can take part

  • You must be either a healthy adult 18-35 years old, or a healthy child 5-17 months old.
  • Women must not be pregnant and must use effective birth control for 3 months after the last vaccine dose.
  • You must live in a study area village and be available for all visits and follow-up.
  • You cannot have serious health conditions like sickle cell disease, cancer, or a weak immune system.
  • You cannot have received any malaria vaccine before, or any other vaccine in the last 14 days.
  • You cannot be taking certain medications, have HIV, hepatitis B or C, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
