This study is testing a method to see which neck pain patients benefit most from manual therapy and exercise. You may be eligible if you have neck pain (with or without arm symptoms) and have not had recent whiplash, neck surgery, or certain other conditions.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • Your main problem is neck pain, possibly with pain going down one arm.
  • Your neck pain is at least a 2 on a 0–10 pain scale and significantly affects your daily activities.
  • You have not had a whiplash injury in the last 6 weeks or any neck surgery.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or within 6 months of giving birth.
  • You do not have serious nerve damage, spinal narrowing, or other red-flag conditions like tumors or fractures.
  • You are not currently in physical therapy or chiropractic care for neck pain.
  • You can read and understand English at an 8th-grade level.
