  • You are scheduled to have your thyroid gland removed (total thyroidectomy).
  • You are in good health overall (classified as ASA I or II).
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You can communicate clearly and have no trouble hearing or speaking.
  • You agree to take part and sign a consent form.
  • You do not have any pre-existing neck or spine problems in the area of surgery.
