Start treatment for methamphetamine use after a traumatic injury

This study tests whether starting a reward-based treatment program while you are still in the hospital can help reduce methamphetamine use after a traumatic injury. You may be able to join if you test positive for methamphetamine, use it at least weekly, and have moderate or severe trouble controlling your use.

Who can take part

  • You are a trauma patient admitted to the hospital.
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You had a urine test that was positive for methamphetamine during this hospital stay.
  • You used methamphetamine at least once a week in the past.
  • You first used methamphetamine more than 6 months before your injury.
  • You have had at least 4 signs of moderate to severe methamphetamine use disorder.
