- You are having a planned or first or second cesarean section (c-section).
- You are between 18 and 40 years old.
- You are between 35 and 40 weeks pregnant.
- You will have general anesthesia (fully asleep) for the surgery.
- You do not have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart or lung disease, or pregnancy complications like preeclampsia or placenta problems.
- You have not used medicines that affect your heart or blood vessels recently.
