This study looks at how well older patients understand health information. If you or a loved one visit St. Peter's Hospital Geriatric Clinic, you may be able to join a simple survey about health literacy.

Who can take part

  • You are a patient at St. Peter's Hospital Geriatric Clinic (new or returning).
  • You or your caregiver are willing to answer questions about health literacy.
  • You or your caregiver can give consent to join the study.
  • You do not have severe behavioral symptoms that could get worse from extra questions.
  • You are not currently sick with an acute illness that would prevent participation.
  • You do not have a terminal illness that would make a 6-month follow-up call impossible.
