- You are over 50 years old
- You have moderate to severe prostate symptoms, with a score of 10 or higher on a standard questionnaire
- Your prostate is between 30 and 80 milliliters in size
- Your urine flow rate is between 5 and 15 milliliters per second on a test
- You urinate at least 8 times per day
- You have not had surgery for an enlarged prostate before
- You are not taking certain bladder medications or have certain medical conditions (like high blood pressure or neurologic disease)
