Who can take part

  • You must be a healthy adult (18 years or older).
  • You should not have received any pneumococcal vaccine (pneumonia shot) in the past.
  • You cannot be taking medications that suppress your immune system, such as steroids or chemotherapy.
  • You cannot have a chronic illness that affects your immune system, like HIV or an autoimmune disease.
