Who can take part
- You are a woman who had not yet gone through menopause when you had breast cancer surgery.
- Your breast cancer was diagnosed as stage I, II, or III (not stage IV) and it is hormone receptor-positive (meaning it feeds on estrogen or progesterone).
- You had a mastectomy (the whole breast removed) and your doctor plans to give you ovarian suppression therapy, which is medication to stop your ovaries from making estrogen.
- You have already completed chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy as part of your treatment.
- You are feeling well enough to do daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1) and you are willing to come back for regular check-ups over a long period.
- You are not pregnant, don't have another active cancer, and are not planning to use other cancer treatments like chemotherapy or immunotherapy while on this study.
