Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 60 years old
  • Had a blunt injury to your belly (like from a car crash or fall) within the last 6 hours
  • Be awake and alert (fully conscious) when you first arrive at the hospital
  • Be either stable or unstable based on your blood pressure, heart rate, and skin signs
  • Not have a penetrating wound (like a stab or gunshot) to the belly
