- Be between 18 and 60 years old
- Had a blunt injury to your belly (like from a car crash or fall) within the last 6 hours
- Be awake and alert (fully conscious) when you first arrive at the hospital
- Be either stable or unstable based on your blood pressure, heart rate, and skin signs
- Not have a penetrating wound (like a stab or gunshot) to the belly
