Who can take part

  • You are 22 years of age or older.
  • You are scheduled for a first-time inguinal hernia repair (elective, not emergency).
  • Your health status is rated as ASA I, II, or III (mild to severe but not incapacitating).
  • You weigh less than 500 pounds.
  • You have not had minimally invasive surgery for a hernia on the same side before.
  • You have not had your prostate removed or pelvic radiation, and your hernia does not extend into your scrotum.
