- Be between 1 month old and 25 years old
- Be staying in a general hospital ward or in the emergency room waiting for a bed on a regular floor
- Be admitted to a children's floor medical team at Mott Children's Hospital
- Not be in the intensive care unit (ICU) or emergency department as an emergency patient
- Not have any condition that would prevent them from meeting the above criteria
