Ultrasound vs. traditional scalp block for children's brain surgery

Who can take part

  • Your child is healthy or has only mild health issues (ASA status I or II).
  • They are having a planned (not emergency) brain tumor surgery on one side of the head.
  • No bleeding disorders like hemophilia or issues with blood clotting.
  • No allergy to numbing medicines like lidocaine or bupivacaine.
  • No heart problems such as a slow heartbeat or unstable rhythm.
