Who can take part

  • You are a woman between 30 and 75 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with breast cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • You are scheduled to have a modified radical mastectomy (surgery to remove the breast and some lymph nodes).
  • You are healthy enough for surgery (ASA I-III and NYHA I-II).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or lower.
  • You are not pregnant, and you do not have a history of chronic pain or long-term opioid use.
