Cognitive Impairment Associated With Schizophrenia (CIAS)

This trial tests if a brain stimulation technique called transcranial electrical stimulation (TIS) can help improve cognitive problems (like memory and attention) in people with schizophrenia. You may join if you are between 18 and 50, have had schizophrenia for no more than 8 years, take 1-2 antipsychotic medicines, and have some trouble with daily activities.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 50 years old
  • Your schizophrenia diagnosis has been confirmed, and you have had it for 8 years or less
  • You are taking either 1 or 2 antipsychotic medicines, and the dose has been stable for at least 1 week
  • You are not taking mood stabilizers, antidepressants, or high doses of benzodiazepines
  • You have problems with daily activities like work or social life due to cognitive issues
  • You have not had seizures, meningitis, encephalitis, severe head injury, or brain tumors or surgery
  • You have not received any electrical or magnetic brain therapy in the last month
