Who can take part
- You have breast or colorectal cancer and your doctor plans to treat it with the chemotherapy drug capecitabine alone.
- The capecitabine dose will be more than 1000 mg per square meter of body surface, twice a day, taken for two weeks on and one week off.
- You have never been treated with capecitabine before.
- You do not have nerve damage or other skin conditions on your hands or feet that could interfere with assessing hand-foot syndrome.
- You do not have Raynaud's syndrome or other blood vessel disorders in your hands or feet.
- Your life expectancy is greater than 12 weeks (about 3 months).
