Who can take part
- Age 18 or older
- Scheduled for an elective (planned) chronic pain procedure under sedation
- Followed fasting guidelines: at least 6 hours without clear fluids, at least 8 hours without solid food
- Have at least one risk factor like chronic opioid use, recent opioid dose, uncontrolled pain, diabetes, acid reflux, reduced mobility, or moderate health issues
- No previous stomach or esophagus surgery
- Not pregnant, no known hiatal hernia, and no severe swallowing or stomach movement disorders
