WHO Labor Care Guide to Reduce Cesarean Births

This study tests whether following World Health Organization guidelines for labor care can help more pregnant women deliver vaginally instead of by cesarean section. You would receive standard labor support and monitoring based on these guidelines.

Who can take part

  • You are currently in active labor (cervix opened at least 5 cm)
  • You are between 37 and 41 weeks pregnant
  • You have never had a cesarean section before
  • You are between 18 and 40 years old
  • You do not have chronic high blood pressure or high blood pressure that developed during this pregnancy
  • You do not have diabetes or gestational diabetes diagnosed during this pregnancy
