Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 50 years old and in good overall health
  • You are willing to use condoms consistently for 3 months after receiving the vaccine
  • If you can become pregnant, you must use reliable birth control for 2 weeks before and 3 months after the vaccine
  • You have not received certain vaccines (like live flu vaccine) within the past 2–4 weeks
  • You do not have HIV, hepatitis B or C, or other serious infections
  • You are willing to take an HIV test and receive counseling about sexual health
