Who can take part

  • You are a woman aged 18–45 years old
  • You are having a planned or unplanned cesarean delivery at 37 weeks of pregnancy or later
  • This is your first cesarean delivery (not a repeat)
  • You do not have chronic pain conditions or take opioid pain medications regularly
  • You have no known allergies to surgical suture materials
  • Your cesarean delivery is not an emergency and proceeds without major complications like excessive bleeding or uterine injury
