Pelvic Floor Exercises and Nerve Stimulation for Stress Incontinence

This study tests whether combining pelvic floor exercises (called Paula exercises) with gentle electrical stimulation of a nerve in your leg can reduce involuntary urine leakage when you cough, sneeze, or exercise. It's designed for women who have had at least two vaginal deliveries and experience stress incontinence.

Who can take part

  • You've had at least 2 vaginal deliveries
  • You have stress incontinence (urine leaks when you cough, sneeze, or exercise) confirmed by a doctor's exam
  • Your symptoms have lasted at least 3 months
  • You can squeeze your pelvic floor muscles correctly when shown how
  • You're not pregnant and not within 6 months of giving birth
  • You haven't had pelvic surgery or incontinence treatment in the past year
