  • You have genetically confirmed SMA (a blood or genetic test has confirmed the diagnosis)
  • You are between 6 and 18 years old
  • You speak English well enough to complete surveys, or someone can help translate
  • If you're 6–15 years old, your parent or legal guardian must consent; if 16–18, you can consent yourself
  • For some age groups, you must be receiving disease-modifying therapy (a treatment that slows SMA progression)
  • You don't have injuries or skin conditions that would prevent you from using a virtual reality device
