Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have a one-sided (unilateral) inguinal hernia scheduled for planned open surgery
  • You are healthy enough for surgery, with no serious heart, lung, or organ problems (ASA status I, II, or III)
  • Your BMI is 35 kg/m² or lower (height-to-weight ratio within safe range)
  • You are not pregnant and do not have bleeding disorders or infections near the surgical area
  • You can follow study instructions, rate your pain on a scale, and have not used opioid painkillers regularly
