Who can take part

  • Child between 8 months and 12 years old
  • Scheduled to have ileostomy or colostomy reversal surgery (closing a surgically created opening in the bowel)
  • No history of stoma prolapse (the stoma pouch falling out or collapsing)
  • Not a repeat stoma surgery (first-time reversal)
  • No chronic inflammatory conditions like tuberculosis
  • No history of cancer or malignant tumors
