Who can take part

  • You are a woman scheduled for planned (non-emergency) laparoscopic surgery
  • You have had at least one previous abdominal surgery (C-section, hysterectomy, appendectomy, or similar)
  • Your previous surgery included a horizontal suprapubic cut or vertical midline cut
  • You are not currently pregnant
  • Your BMI is 40 or lower (excess weight can make ultrasound images unclear)
  • You do not have severe heart or lung disease that would make surgery risky
