Caudal Pain Relief for Newborn Hernia Surgery

We Are Studying the Effects of Caudal Dexamethasone in Neonates Undergoing Inguinal Hernia Repair

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be a full-term newborn (born at 37+ weeks of pregnancy)
  • Your baby must be in good general health or have only minor, well-controlled medical conditions
  • Your baby must weigh at least 3 kilograms (about 6.6 pounds)
  • Your baby must be scheduled for inguinal hernia repair surgery
  • Your baby cannot have known allergies to dexamethasone or bupivacaine
  • You and your partner must be willing to participate and give informed consent
