Stone breaking vs dusting for kidney stones

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have a kidney stone smaller than 2 cm (confirmed by a CT scan)
  • Your doctor can reach your stone with a special flexible camera (flexible ureterorenoscopy)
  • You can have a thin tube (sheath) placed past the point where the kidney meets the ureter
  • You are able to give written consent and attend follow-up visits
