Vitamin B12 absorption study in older adults

Healthy Volunteers

This study looks at how well your body absorbs vitamin B12. You will receive a B12 supplement and have your blood tested. It is for healthy adults aged 50 and older who are not taking B12 supplements.

  • You are 50 years old or older.
  • Your BMI is between 18 and 29.9.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
  • You have not taken vitamin B12 supplements or multivitamins with B12 in the past 2 months.
  • You are willing to avoid certain foods (like liver, kidney, shellfish) and alcohol before study visits, and follow a standard meal plan.
