Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You are scheduled for a kidney transplant from a living donor (not a deceased donor).
- You will receive either sevoflurane gas anesthesia or combined spinal-epidural anesthesia (not IV sedation only).

- You do not have a mitochondrial disorder, and you are not on long-term corticosteroid medication.
