Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You had a successful epidural placed using the midline approach (needle enters straight in the middle of the back).
  • Your medical records clearly show the exact spine level and depth of the epidural needle.
  • You did not have a dural puncture (accidental puncture of the spinal cord covering) during the procedure.
  • You did not need additional general anesthesia because the epidural alone wasn't working well enough.
