Who can take part

  • You are a child diagnosed with a choledochal cyst (type I or IV) and scheduled for a specific surgery called Roux-En-Y hepaticojejunostomy.
  • You are a child with a suspected diagnosis of biliary atresia and scheduled for a surgery called Roux-En-Y portoenterostomy.
  • You have not had emergency surgery or a drainage procedure for your bile duct cyst.
  • You are stable after surgery (not in shock or having unstable blood pressure).
  • You have not had any previous gastrointestinal surgery.
