Weighted blanket for comfort during vent weaning
Part of Lungs & breathing clinical trials.
This trial is testing whether a special weighted blanket can help you feel more calm and comfortable as doctors slowly reduce the support from your breathing machine. It's for people who are on a ventilator and ready to start the weaning process.

This trial studies how small changes to a breathing machine can affect how short of breath you feel. If you are in the ICU and awake, you may be able to help doctors learn how to make ventilator settings more comfortable.
This trial tests a non-drug breathing technique to help people who are having trouble coming off the breathing machine in the ICU. If you have needed a ventilator for more than a day and have already failed a breathing trial, this study may be for you.
This study compares two ways of testing if overweight or obese patients can breathe on their own after being on a ventilator. You will be randomly assigned to one of two breathing trials (pressure support or a T-piece) to see which works better for helping you get off the ventilator.
This trial compares two ways of adjusting the breathing machine to help patients come off it more smoothly. It uses a special measurement (airway occlusion pressure) to guide settings, which may help you breathe on your own faster.
This trial uses a special imaging technique (electrical impedance tomography) to help doctors guide early and precise rehabilitation for patients who are having a hard time getting off a breathing machine. The goal is to find better ways to support your recovery.
This study looks at how often obese patients have trouble breathing when doctors try to remove the breathing tube (weaning) in the ICU. The goal is to understand what causes this and how it affects recovery.
