Who can take part

  • You are an adult (18 years or older).
  • You have a primary hernia in the middle of your belly, either at the belly button or just above it.
  • The hernia has not been repaired before and is the first you've had.
  • You do not have a history of prostate surgery (if male), preperitoneal mesh for groin hernia, lower abdominal surgery, or a C-section.
  • You are not pregnant and can safely receive general anesthesia.
