This trial studies genetic changes in people with tracheal stenosis (narrowing of the windpipe). It compares two treatments: wedge resection (cutting out the narrow part) and radial incision (cutting to open it up). This may help doctors choose the best treatment in the future.

Coated balloon for non-cancerous airway narrowing
This trial tests a special balloon coated with a medicine (paclitaxel) to open narrowed windpipes. It is for people whose windpipe is blocked by scar tissue from a ventilator, transplant, or other non-cancer causes, not from cancer.
