Who can take part
- Your baby is 6 months old or younger when first seen at a ChiLDReN clinic site
- Your baby has signs of cholestasis (a liver condition where bile backs up) with specific blood test results
- Your baby may have biliary atresia (a rare condition where bile ducts don't form properly)
- You can provide written permission for your baby's medical information to be collected and studied
- Your baby has not had previous surgery on the bile ducts or liver
- Your baby does not currently have severe infections, heart/oxygen problems, or cancer
