Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for knee surgery such as total knee replacement, high tibial osteotomy, or ACL reconstruction
  • You do not have an active infection in or around your knee
  • Your leg bone shapes and alignment are typical (not unusually shaped or misaligned)
  • Your knee is not too unstable (except some instability related to ACL injury if you’re waiting for ACL reconstruction)
  • Your knee can bend enough (flexion should be at least 120 degrees)
  • Your knee does not have a large inability to fully straighten (no flexion contracture of 10 degrees or more)
