Biomarker-guided treatment for endometrial cancer

This study uses a tumor “biomarker” test to guide treatment in people with endometrial cancer (and sometimes epithelial ovarian cancer). It tests whether tailoring weekly chemotherapy (paclitaxel) based on biomarker levels can help patients, especially when the cancer has come back or is advanced.

Who can take part

  • You have a suspected or confirmed endometrial cancer (cancer of the womb)
  • You are 18 years or older
  • You can have surgery or surgical treatment for your endometrial cancer
  • Your care plan includes weekly paclitaxel treatment for your cancer
  • A new tumor tissue biopsy is possible so the team can test stathmin levels
  • You can and will sign consent (including being able to communicate despite language barriers)

This study is testing whether a special kind of medicine called a PARP inhibitor can work against endometrial cancer cells grown in a lab from your tumor. The goal is to find out which patients might benefit from this treatment in the future.
