Who can take part
- You have a confirmed soft-tissue sarcoma in an arm/leg or the trunk area (not just a different cancer).
- Your sarcoma is an intermediate- or high-grade tumor.
- The main tumor can be surgically removed (resectable), even if you also have metastasis as long as the primary tumor will be taken out.
- If the cancer is a recurrence, you have not had any prior radiation to the same area to be treated.
- You should be well enough to do daily activities (Karnofsky score 70+ or ECOG 0–2).
- You can’t be on active treatment for a different cancer, and you must not have had radiation to the area before; you also can’t have chemotherapy before surgery (but chemotherapy after surgery may be allowed).
