Who can take part

  • You are pregnant and under 8 weeks, with a blood test suggesting pregnancy and an ultrasound showing a live embryo of the right size
  • You have antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), confirmed by a specific blood test called lupus anticoagulant (LAC)
  • Your LAC test is positive at least twice, at least 12 weeks apart (or you were newly diagnosed recently and have one confirmed positive test)
  • You are age 18 to 40 years (plus up to 364 days) and can give informed consent
  • Your screening blood test shows a hematocrit above 26%
