Who can take part

  • You are currently pregnant with a live baby inside the uterus and you are within the first trimester
  • Your gestational week limit depends on your APS antibody status (if you have APS antibodies, up to 18 weeks; if not, up to 12 weeks)
  • You are age 18–45 (or under 18 with a parent/guardian who can consent)
  • Your blood count (hematocrit) is above 26%
  • If you have APS antibodies, you meet specific blood test thresholds for aCL, anti-beta2GP1, and/or lupus anticoagulant
  • If you are in the control group, you have had at least one prior successful pregnancy and no recent pregnancy losses beyond allowed limits
