This study uses an ultrasound method to measure tendon stiffness (how “firm” the tendon feels) in people with leg tendon pain or with leg pain but no tendon involvement. It may help researchers better understand tendon problems and how to detect them early using ultrasound.

Who can take part
- You are coming to the study site for lower-extremity (leg) pain evaluation.
- If you have tendon pain, you have a diagnosis of “tenalgia” and your tendinopathy is confirmed by ultrasound.
- If you are in the comparison group, your leg pain is not coming from a tendon.
- You cannot be pregnant.
- You have no prior history of tendinopathy or tendon surgery, and no tendon shape abnormalities found on imaging.
- You have not taken certain medicines recently (like steroid injections, estrogen, long-term quinolone antibiotics, or cholesterol drugs) and you do not have conditions such as major metabolic/endocrine disease or psoriasis.
