Who can take part
- You have confirmed colon or rectal adenocarcinoma (a specific type of colon/rectal cancer).
- Your cancer is in the liver and cannot be surgically removed (liver resection isn’t possible).
- Scans (PET/CT and CT/MRI of chest/abdomen/pelvis) must not show cancer outside the liver, except small, surgically treatable lung spots under 15 mm.
- You must be healthy enough for treatment based on performance status (ECOG 0 or 1) and blood tests must be within required limits (including bilirubin and liver enzymes).
- You should either have worsening disease during/after first-line chemotherapy, or be unable to tolerate first-line chemotherapy; you’ll be randomized after checking 8–12 weeks after starting second-line chemotherapy.
