Check how typhoid and cholera vaccines work in adults

Typhoid and/or Cholera Vaccination

This study gives (or follows) typhoid and/or cholera vaccines and measures how your immune system responds. It is done in adults who are already scheduled for an upper endoscopy (EGD) and/or colonoscopy, using small tissue samples if appropriate.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are already scheduled for an EGD or colonoscopy at the University of Maryland Medical Center (main campus or Midtown).
  • You can sign written consent before any study steps.
  • A clinician considers you healthy enough to have an outpatient EGD/colonoscopy.
  • You have no history of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
