Who can take part
- You have cervical cancer confirmed by biopsy as adenocarcinoma, squamous cell cancer, or adeno-squamous cancer
- Your cancer stage is IB (but not IB3) or IIA1 (not beyond IIA1)
- Your tumor is 4 cm or smaller
- You are planned for a radical hysterectomy using either “Type B” or “Type C” surgical approach
- You are healthy enough for surgery and your tests show adequate bone marrow, kidney, and liver function
- You are not pregnant and have no prior pelvic or abdominal radiation
- You do not have spread to distant sites or clearly enlarged lymph nodes (based on scans and/or biopsy)
