- You have higher-than-normal liver enzyme results (ALT) that are up to 3 times the lab’s upper limit
- Your ALT is not more than 3 times the lab’s upper limit (very high results may exclude you)
- Your kidney function is normal (creatinine 1.2 mg/dL or less)
- You do not have diabetes, based on a diabetes history or high fasting glucose (over 126 mg/dL)
- You do not have viral hepatitis or a history of cancer
- You have no serious uncontrolled health problems like high blood pressure or serious heart disease
