Who can take part
- You are the parent of a newborn delivered at 37 weeks or later
- The pregnancy was uncomplicated and the mother did not have pre-eclampsia
- Mother can read, speak, and understand Swedish enough to consent in Swedish
- For C-section births: mother’s vaginal pH at birth must be 4 or lower
- For C-section births: mother must not have certain infections (like Group B strep, Group A strep, or bacterial vaginosis)
- The baby’s stool sample must not show certain germs (Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter, or Yersinia)
