Who can take part
- Your cervical cancer is stage IIIB to IVA, and you cannot safely get full curative pelvic radiation (or combined radiation plus chemotherapy).
- You have moderate to severe pain, with a pain score of 4 or higher.
- Your doctors expect your life expectancy to be less than 12 months.
- If your cancer is stage IVB, either chemotherapy is not possible or it would be too hard to tolerate.
- If there is tumor connection to the bladder or rectum (a fistula) or other difficult local spread, curative treatment like pelvic exenteration is not planned.
